Battery Charger See Boat RV Marine Solar Panel - Frameless, Unbreakable - Non Glass Construction. 12V Battery Charger 12 Watts. by Ganz eco-energy. (CPV-12). Voltage regulator not required. Details
Product Description
GANZ Eco-Energy's fully weatherproof solar panels are designed to provide clean, quiet and reliable power in 6W, 12W and 30W models for rugged marine and other outdoor applications. An unbreakable plastic film surface with semi-flexible aluminum backing make these panels ideal for mounting on flat or gently curved decks. Crystalline cells have the industry's highest conversion efficiency, providing maximum power while taking up less space on deck. Each panel has 4 grommet finished holes for mounting along with 10' of outdoor rated power cable that connects directly to your battery or a charge controller.
- Fully weatherproof low-profile & lightweight design.
- Semi-Flexible panels with aluminum backing for flat to gently curved surfaces.
- 20 year power output warranty; 2 year materials limited warranty.
- 10' power cable (12 gauge tinned copper).
- Self Regulating - Voltage regulator (controller) not required.

Battery DemandsBatteries are the single most vital component within a car. Long after you have turned the engine off, batteries appear to be continually supplying numerous electrical components Using the power they need, such as; engine management systems, sat nav, alarm, clock, radio memory, and more. because of this demand, batteries can become drained in a matter of weeks if not maintained in the correct manner by either driving the vehicle long enough to replace lost charge or by the access to a battery charger.
When planning to not use your vehicle for extended periods, checking and boosting each and every 30 - 60 days is just not enough to make sure your battery is not going to self-discharge to a significant level. This 'under charging' results in 'sulphation' if the battery voltage is allowed to drop and remain below 12.4 volts. This sulphation is the hardening of the lead plates within the battery and it reduces the battery's ability to accept or hold a charge. This is where we would then recommend the use of a charger to maintain the charge in a battery.
Charging
There seem to be a few different techniques of charging to maintain a battery:
Charge with a regular battery charger. Downside of This is that often these aren't automatic and do not turn themselves off when full charge is reached. If left unattended a battery can grow to be 'boiled dry' from overcharging. The battery becomes quite harmful due to highly explosive gasses produced in one charging at a high rate along along with other the casing becoming quite warm introducing a fire risk.
Trickle charging. This is where the charging device gives the connected battery a low steady charge. Drawback of this method is that these will only give out a constant low charge that's frequently not enough to keep a battery above the significant voltage of 12.4 volts. In essence they may well maintain a great battery but not recharge it if the voltage level becomes too low.
Battery conditioners. At Windrush Car Storage we connect all vehicles to a battery conditioner. These appear to be fully automatic battery chargers, And also this monitor, charge and keep the battery with no the risk of overcharging. These might be left switched on and connected for long periods of time (years) with no the risk of gassing or overheating. Simply the ultimate of both of those above.
Battery maintenance
just before connecting a charger It's advisable to be aware of a couple of basic points;
ensure battery fluid level is between the minimum and maximum marks, if the battery is not a sealed unit. Top up with other distilled or de-ionised water (the acid in the battery does not need replacing now that It is not consumed).
Clean battery terminals and lead connectors having a wire brush, make certain the sure and negative leads make a great fit to each and every of those terminal posts and make access to a dedicated battery terminal spray or petroleum jelly to prevent corrosion.
Note: before disconnecting the battery, make sure that you've the relevant code towards the radio if required. This may have to be entered to the radio to function on re-connection of these battery.
